The Wahoo kayak is the first specialised motor kayak by Galaxy Kayaks. This fishing kayak was developed using feedback from countless customers across our many countries as well as our experienced Pro Team who wanted an electric motor kayak specially designed for fishing. Unlike our other models that allow you to attach an external motor, The Galaxy Wahoo incorporates the motor into a dedicated compartment that sits neatly in the center of the kayak.

Travelling long distances paddling a sit on top kayak requires serious energy, stamina and experience. At Galaxy Kayaks we offer top of the range sit on top kayaks that are capable of covering long distances with ease for experienced paddlers. However we also know doing this in practice is not a reality for many of us.

The Wahoo overcomes this as it uses a 44 pound electric motor that is capable of traveling at 6 knots with a medium sized passenger and up to 40km in distance. Even a strong, fit and experienced paddler would struggle to cover the same kinds of distances, and certainly not with as much ease as with using this motor kayak.

This wide and spacious kayak comes with an elevated Vista Chair that gives maximum comfort and great visibility as you glide along the water. It has been designed with maximum stability in mind so that you can sit comfortably above the water and avoid getting wet.

Unlike other electric motor kayaks, the Wahoo has a central dedicated enclosure that supports the electric motor. Having the motor in a central position improves the speed, handling and thrust as it sits directly beneath the kayak. Having a central motor also helps protect it from damage as you can quickly lift it up and out of harms way. It allows you to keep a close eye on the propeller and easily dislodge any tangled weeds or rope that might get caught up in it. Having a quick release mechanism is critical as the motor is the most expensive part of your kayak and you want to protect it as much as possible.

The Wahoo kayak measures 360cm long by 81cm wide which makes it very stable and also features a sharp rocker which allows the kayak to easily cut through water. This kayak comes geared up for some serious fishing with four sets of rails, two in the front and two in the rear for the addition of up to 14 railblaza starports.

The moulded handle in the front of the kayak is as sturdy as they come and the new rear swivel handle allows you to comfortably move around the kayak without ever having to change your grip.

Additionally, this kayak comes with our new Galaxy Electric Port, that is situated close to the center hatch. The special water proof socket allows you to secure the motor in place and quickly plug straight into the power source. The port has cabling pre-mounted through to the battery compartment that is housed in a dedicated enclosure just behind your seat. The Galaxy Electric Port also comes with extra clip sockets that allow you to plug your fishfinders straight in and feed off the same power source so there is no need for a separate battery. The battery compartment comes equipped with extendable leads that are connected through to the Galaxy Electric Port. These leads can easily be clipped onto your battery to supply the power through to the port. The battery compartment has a firm lid and latch that allows the battery to be stored safely and neatly behind you.

At Galaxy Kayaks, we know that onboard space and storage is precious, which is why we’ve included a round 8" central storage hatch as well as our new front storage hatch with lid for storing any extra larger material close to hand. More still, the Wahoo comes with our new moulded platforms to the side of your seat for quick storage of material, always useful when handling fish or tying lures.
